Razor bumps are small or medium sized bumps that are caused due to irritation when shaving. When the strands of your hair curl back, that causes the razor bumps to grow.
There are definitely some natural ways to prevent them, stop the irritation from becoming worse and get rid of them.
Before shaving exfoliate your skin with a Loofah sponge for about 5 minutes gently.
Homemade Exfoliating Scrub For Men-
Mix 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda with 1 tablespoon of a liquid soap for exfoliation.
Always use a clean razor. Try to get rid of the old razors.
You can apply Olive Oil before shaving to protect your skin.
Now you can make a natural shaving cream such as...
Put 4 tablespoons of Olive Oil in a bowl and place it in the microwave for 25 seconds, mix in 1.5 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda. Reheat the mixture up again in the microwave for about another 25 minutes. Add 3 tablespoons of Castile soap.
Mix ingredients in a blender for 2 minutes or with a whisk for 5 minutes or until it turns foamy.
(Note) When the cream becomes liquified shake it up to make it become foamy again.
Always remember to shave in the direction of your hair growth.
After shaving you can apply the following...
Apple Cider Vinager which has antibacterial properties in it. Take a cotton ball, put a few drops on it, and dab it gently on your skin.
Witch Hazel. (works really well) It helps prevent Razor Bumps and Ingrown Hair. You can dap some on your hands and apply it to your skin or use a cotton ball to apply it, after shaving.
Aspirin Face Paste-
Mix a paste of 4 uncoated Aspirin with a few drops of water (make sure paste is not too dry) apply it on your skin for 10 minutes, apply the paste morning and night, gently rub it off with a damp warm cloth. This will reduce any swelling on your skin.
Apply Aloe Vera gel to effected area or Tea Tree Oil twice a day if you notice any irritation for 3 to 4 days.
Lemon Juice can fade the dark spots and marks left behind from razor bumps. Apply the lemon juice to only the dark spot or marks, twice daily with your hands or cotton ball gently until the dark spots fade away.
NOTE: some methods may sting a little, but you all are Men you can handle it! These tips work really well.
Natural Face Masks For Men-
Oily Skin:
Mix 1/2 a cup of cooked Oatmeal with an egg white, 1/2 a cup of mashed Apple (blended) and1 tablespoon of fresh Lemon Juice, make a paste, allow Oatmeal to cool for a little, apply the paste to your face, leave it on for 10 minutes, then wipe it off with a wash cloth and rinse with lukewarm water.
Mix 1 mashed Tomato with 1 tablespoon of Oatmeal and 1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice, apply it to your face, leave it for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.
For Acne:
Mash 1 cup of fresh washed Strawberries, apply it to dry skin, leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Clay Mask Recipes For Oily Skin:
Mix together 2 tablespoons of Powdered Green Clay, 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera Juice, 1/2 a teaspoon of Jojoba Oil, and 1 drop each of Bergamot Essential Oil or Grapefruit Essential Oil and Lavender Oil, leave it on for 15 minutes then rinse.
Aspirin And Lemon Mask To Treat Pimples-
Use 2-5 Aspirin, crush the aspirin into small pieces, place the Aspirin in a a bowl, squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh Lemon Juice (per 3 Aspirin) make a paste (you can add 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil for dry skin) use this as a face make or pimple treatment by applying it on the effected area, allow the paste to dry, remove the paste with a wet, warm washcloth, dipped in Baking Soda, after it's all removed you can apply Coconut Oil.
For Dry Skin-
Mix 1 Tablespoon of Brewer's Yeast, 1/2 Tablespoon of Plain Yogurt, 1 teaspoon of fresh Lemon Juice, 1 teaspoon of Carrot Juice, 2 teaspoons of Olive Oil in a bowl, apply the mask on your face, leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
